August Events in Suffolk

As our area enjoys the heat of late-summer, we hope you enjoy these events in and around Downtown Suffolk! If you are heading to any of them let us know, and if not we'd love to see you at our dealership on Main Street!
  • Aug 6 - National Night Out - an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. This event enhances the relationships between neighbors and first responders while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. Visit for information on all of the NNO parties being held throughout the City of Suffolk on Tuesday, August 6. There will be a NNO Kickoff event at 5:30 p.m. at Suffolk City Hall followed by the public safety and City staff tours of the events happening throughout the City of Suffolk.
  • Aug 17 - 31st Annual Nansemond Indian Pow Wow - Two-day Native American cultural celebration including music, dance, food, and crafts. The pow wow is located at the end of Pembroke Lane which runs off Godwin Boulevard (across from Oakland Elementary School) in the Chuckatuck area of Suffolk. Find more here:
  • Aug 25 - Jewelry Skills Workshop - Join Michelle with Michelle Elaine Designs for this Basic Jewelry Skills Workshop. Michelle will teach you how to make a necklace and other jewelry making basics and techniques such as wire wrapping, stringing, using your pliers for creating jewelry and more!   • Aug 26 - TGIF Summer Concert Series - The sounds of music will permeate the Downtown Suffolk waterfront with a variety of musicians on FRIDAY nights. Enjoy music, food and great company. Enjoy the sounds of salsa, bluegrass, R and B, rock-n-roll, country, dance, beach music and more! Musical genre varies from week to week.
